iDevAffiliate or Post Affiliate Pro?
I don’t want to use any of the standard affiliate management sites for my birthday special next week. ClickBank is too restrictive with new products and RegNow (my processor for Site Sniper Pro) is loathsome.
So I’m thinking seriously of purchasing a 3rd-party affiliate software that I can host on my servers and run my own affiliate program. So far I’ve got it narrowed down to either iDevAffiliate or Post Affiliate Pro.
Both look like they would do the job. I’m leaning toward Post Affiliate Pro.
Do you have any experience with either one? Or perhaps know of another I should be considering? I’d love to gain a bit more insight before I launch a live campaign in a week on one of them.
It absolutely *must* work out-of-the-box. I have too many other things I have to take care of in the next 5 days to spend my time playing around with p.i.t.a. software.
Btw… please don’t mention 1ShoppingCart or InfusionSoft. Been there. Done that. Not going back.

I was going to say HasOffers is about #1 right now.
Besides those three there is also http://jam.jrox.com/
mharward @ 12:56 pm:
I'll check out HasOffers.
I've already looked at jrox. Got so far as to install the trial on my server. There are some things it doesn't do that I wanted it to do. Can't remember all of them at the moment… I think recurring commissions was a big one, though.

Post Affiliate Pro will contains features, which none of mentioned softwares has. Really cool feature, which will be released within next 2 weeks is Split Commissions.
(You can split commissions between more affiliates referring same sale, what was until now common problem of all affiliate programs)
Next to those features PAP contains real Offline marketing module, real on the fly PDF rebranding for each affiliate (not just simple PDF uploads!), dynamic web page replication (works e.g. on replicated wordpress blog), etc.
I'm from Quality Unit, and I don't try to hide it here, so please don't take this post as spam. I just want to exaplain, why I think our application is much better as other competitors.
BTW: during business days we do installations for our customers for FREE, integration service is payed extra, but our agents are prepared to do it for you as well.
Terence @ 8:18 pm:
I was going to suggest Jrox, not because you got this rock-on, rock-star thing going, but because I had used it as an affiliate of Thesis and thought it was reasonably comprehensive. But reading @victor's 'spam' I am really interested to see what you install since I am about to start my own. Let us know what you choose and why.
Terence.

Post Affiliate Pro it is.
I'll explain my reasoning in a future post… and give a review of how well it goes for me next week. I've only invited a handful of affiliates… but I have some very respected promotion partners. Can't afford to have it not work.
Fingers crossed.
P.S. If you're interested in promoting my birthday special (even though you don't really know what it is yet), shoot me an email and let me know what you bring to the table. Excellent commissions… And I *love* to spend money on my partners

Grrr. Installing PAP was a bit of a hassle. The install script kept hanging after creating the database. Very frustrating.
Finally, after deleting and re-uploading multiple times, I decided to simply switch browsers.
Bingo.
For whatever reason PAP didn't like installing from IE8. Worked like a charm with Safari. I hope that's not a recurring theme.
But at least I'm up and running. Up next… the configuration.

I've had nothing but problems with Post Affiliate Pro. I've submitted a support request to them over 2 weeks ago and no resolution.
Fully paid for software, completely useless support and script.
I've tried to install on 5 different servers, all with the same result.
It just doesn't work.
adam @ 6:36 pm:
Oh, and we even gave them FTP access so they could fix it.. where's that 'free installation' they spam about above?
Nothing from these guys. They are really pathetic!

Hi,
Can you tell me what is the score? Do they still have problems with support? And actually WHY you chose Affiliate Pro and not idev?
I'm asking because I'm doing the same thing right now - I try to find out which one is better for my business
